Registration

Registration is opened and will close at noon on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Please make sure all entries are in by that time.

The 2023 Alabama Association Cross Country Championships will be held on Saturday, November 18 at Fairview Park in Cullman, Alabama. This meet is open to Youth, Open and Master's athletes with a current USATF membership.  


DRAFT SCHEDULE


  8:30 am Men’s and Women’s Open and Men's and Women's Masters 5K
  9:00 am girls 8 & Under 2 km (1.24 miles) 
  9:20 am boys 8 & Under 2 km (1.24 miles)
  9:40 am  9-10 and 11-12 girls 3 km (1.86 miles)
10:00 am  9-10 and 11-12 boys 3 km (1.86 miles)
10:20 am 13-14 girls 4 km (2.48 miles)
10:40 am 13-14 boys 4 km (2.48 miles)
11:00 am 15-16 and 17-18 girls 5k (3.1 miles)
11:30 am 15-16 and 17-18 boys 5k (3.1 miles)

A final schedule will be sent to the email used to register in athletic.net to all registered athletes on Thursday, November 16. We will combine races for boys’ and girls’ and age groups if there are less than 12 in any race. However, each race will be scored separately.

On behalf of the USATF Youth Division Chair, please be advised of the following information regarding the 2023 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships:
 
Please find below the process Athletes will use to have an opportunity to participate in this year’s 2023 USATF Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships. If for some reason an Athlete has an "extraordinary circumstance" (that is not covered by rule) that might prevent them from following the process below, please have them adhere to rule 306.1c to request a waiver from the YEC. 
  
2023 JOXC Advancement - Rule 306.3(d) 
  
Advancement to the National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship shall be directly from the Alabama Association Championship to the National Championship. Qualifiers for the National Championship shall be as follows:
  1. Region: The top 30 individuals by age division and the top five scoring teams; 
  2. Association: The top 15 individuals by age division and the top two scoring teams. 
 If an individual who is not in the Top 15 of the Alabama Association Cross Country Championships wishes to advance to the National Championship, they may request a waiver through the Alabama Youth Chair from the Region 6 Youth Coordinator. The waiver will be considered as long as the number of athletes from Region 6 does not exceed 30.
